Director of Business Development-Western Washington Region

Western Washington Office - Bellevue

SUMMARY:  Provides direct support to the Management Team.  Has total responsibility for the Bellevue area Business Development function of Lydig Construction Inc. Is responsible for creating new and profitable business ventures within the Bellevue Operations territory.  Is responsible for increasing and securing Lydig’s presence primarily within the Negotiated and Design Build markets. Performs all other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES 

1.1 Personally contacts Developers, Owners, Owner Representatives, Architects and Engineers to develop and nurture a long term relationship with them.
1.2 Serves as the company representative in promoting Lydig’s active role in the community.
1.3 Tracks and follows-up on all potential clients.
1.4 Reports weekly to VP of Operations.
1.5 Meets and coordinates with Project Managers and Management Team Members to mine prospects and ensure future workload is secured.
1.6 Researches business periodicals for potential clients.
1.7 Develops a positive relationship with Project Managers to learn about and expand upon their business relationships.
1.8 Develops relationships with other managers and staff to learn of ways to differentiate Lydig Construction from others in the market.
1.9 Develops and builds business relationships with Insurance Adjusters.
1.10  In person or in writing, continually communicates in a professional and personable manner with clients and prospective clients.
1.10 In all possible ways, continually and professional sells Lydig.
1.11 Continually keeps principals and management informed of significant issues related to areas of responsibility.
1.12 Provides a mentoring relationship for staff


EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS

EDUCATION:  Bachelors Degree is required.  Emphasis in Marketing or Business
Development preferred.  Experience may substitute for education
EXPERIENCE:  A minimum of 5 years (with a BA Degree), (minimum 10 years
experience required without a Bachelors Degree) of related job experience is required.
Experience must be in all phases of construction from planning to completion of the
project. 

SKILLS:  Must be able to interact in a personable and professional manner with
prospective clients.  Must be able to establish rapport and maintain effective
communication with staff.  Must be able to proactively determine solutions to problems
in areas of responsibility.  Must have good organizational and time management skills.
Must be able to speak publicly.  Must be able to maintain confidential information.  Must
be able to use applicable computer software including ACT Database.

PHYSICAL ABILITIES:  Must be able to operate a computer and other standard office
machines.  Vision must be adequate to read documents.  Must be able to drive a vehicle.

CERTIFICATIONS:  A current driver’s license and an acceptable driving record as
defined by our insurance company. 

TRAVEL:  Occasional overnight travel of several days’ duration is required.
