This state-of-the-art facility was built to serve the laboratory needs of 20 counties from Ellensburg to the Idaho state border. This facility provides the WSP with 35,000 sf of space, more than six times the size of WSP’s prior lab space. The building sits on a 4-acre site on the Eastern Washington University campus, and includes administration, laboratory and evidence management areas, plus a classroom and a training laboratory that can hold about 50 students. The nature of the high technology forensic equipment in the Crime Lab required complex control systems and mechanical systems as well as extensive testing to ensure the building will be fully functional for many years to come.
