Ellensburg High School
Ellensburg, Washington
Constructed in a residential area, this new, 168,000 SF school features a pitched roof structure to respect the feel of the neighborhood. The community found in this project a tremendous sense of pride, which was translated to extremely high quality levels in design and construction. Many innovations and high-tech features were incorporated into the school, such as teaching observation rooms for nearby teaching degree students and “smart board” white boards that word process the text as the instructor writes. Many environmental techniques were incorporated during construction, such as using local subcontractors and materials and recycling of construction debris.
