Swedish Cherry Hill South Addition Parking Garage and Plaza

Construction is complete for a new, 93-stall underground parking garage, main entry traffic and pedestrian plaza and related improvements at Swedish Hospital’s Cherry Hill Campus in Seattle.
This project abuts a critical care hospital on two sides and a historic building on a third side. Working adjacent to critical care services such as heart and neurological surgeries, MRI, CT, and Cyber-Knife imaging procedures, intensive care patient bed units and emergency department services required a high level of pre-planning and monitoring to eliminate noise, vibration, dust, odors, contaminants, and safety protocol impacts. Extensive care was taken to shore up the historic 1910 James Tower building so that the vibrations of the excavation of the new garage and plaza did not harm the building.
